Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba could leave the ranks of the Red Devils in the forthcoming period, according to the various sources from England and Italy.
The 25-year-old mid-fielder is unhappy with his current life in the Premier League, even more with his relationship with Jose Mourinho. The two have opened a public discussion amid United’s severe crisis in the English top flight.
The conflict between the Portuguese tactician and the French playmaker started after United’s shock defeat by Derby County in the Carabao Cup, where the 3-time Champions League winners got eliminated by the Championship side in front of the home crowd.
After a disastrous Cup elimination, Mourinho has gone public to criticize his star mid-fielder and announce his decision to deprive Pogba of the captain’s armband in the future.
“The only truth is that I decided for Paul – not to be the second captain anymore,”
“The only truth is that I decided for Paul – not to be the second captain anymore,” the ex-Real Madrid boss told The Guardian.
Moreover, constant pressure from the British media and problems within the Red Devils’ dressing room seem to have also made a negative impact on the former Juventus man.
Not only Pogba has been underperforming in the Premier League over the past couple of months, but his uninspiring displays had cost him a call-up to the France national team.
In the effort to revive his career and return to the right path, the box-to-box midfielder is allegedly poised to return to Turin where he had spent four astonishing years.
After Manchester United performed a miraculous comeback against the Bianconeri in the Champions League, Pogba has refused to celebrate a victory with the rest of his teammates.
Such a gesture has been interpreted as his attempt to send a message to Fabio Paratici that he is ready to wear the black-white shirt again.
On the other hand, the reigning Serie A champions would gladly welcome their former headline performer, considering Sami Khedira and Emre Can are struggling to find the right rhythm this year.
Although Massimiliano Allegri has Rodrigo Bentancur and Blaise Matuidi at his disposal, the Italian manager looks forward to pairing Pogba up with Miralem Pjanic in the center of the park.
However, the Turin-based giants will have to allocate a substantial figure if looking to persuade Manchester United’s bigwigs to renounce Pogba’s services.
The Red Devils have splashed out €105 million to bring the Frenchman back to Old Trafford back in 2016 and would hardly accept anything less to let him start.
